What We Believe:

THE BIBLE:  We believe the Bible to be the inspired and inerrant Word of God.  We believe in the authority, sufficiency and infallibility of the Bible and that it is the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creed and opinion are measured and so it is the source and teaching of Antioch Church.  

GOD:  We believe in God as the Supreme Being, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each of whom possesses all the attributes of deity.

CREATION:  We believe the Biblical account of creation, of the physical universe, angels and man, without any evolutionary process.  We believe God created man in His image in untested innocence for the purpose of perfect fellowship with Him. 

SALVATION: By voluntary disobedience, man fell from God’s favor bringing upon himself and all subsequent humanity God’s judgment of both physical and spiritual death.  Unsaved man is separated eternally from God, dead in trespasses and sins.  However, by faith in the work of Jesus Christ comes regeneration (re-birth) of the Spirit and eternal life. Judgment of our sin (past, present and future) was poured out upon Christ, and so the requirements of God’s justice and holiness are met in the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. The only condition for receiving this salvation is faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.  

JESUS CHRIST:  We believe in Jesus Christ as the second Person of the Godhead.  In His deity, He existed from all eternity and has all of the attributes of God.  In His humanity, Jesus Christ was virgin-born, lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary death on the cross, was buried, and rose bodily from the dead on the third day in accordance with the scriptures.  He ascended to heaven and now sits in full authority on the right hand of the Father as our Advocate, Intercessor,  and Mediator and will physically return to earth to judge the wicked and reward the righteous.  

THE HOLY SPIRIT:  We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, is a real person and possesses all of the attributes of both personality and deity.    When a person responds in repentance and faith, the Holy Spirit regenerates him, baptizes him into the body of Christ, indwells him as a constant Companion and Guide, and seals him as God’s unique possession. 

SATAN:  We believe that there is a real personal being called Satan, the devil.  He is a fallen angel who opposes the work and worship of God by seeking to deceive and to cause doubt and discouragement in the life of the believer. He was defeated at Calvary and will be thrown ultimately into the Lake of Fire forever.  

THE CHURCH:  We believe in the Church of Jesus Christ as the body of all believers in Him.  The local expression of this Body is an assembly of baptized believers working together to spread the gospel and to edify or build up one another in Christ.  It is God’s will for each believer to be an active and accountable part of a local church.

FUTURE EVENTS:  We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ for His own (believers) at the Rapture (the catching up of the church to meet the Lord in the air).  We believe in the eternal soul of man which will live forever.  The saved will live in fullness of joy and harmony in the presence of Jesus Christ in heaven.  The unsaved will be consciously punished and eternally separated from the presence of God in the Lake of Fire.
